Happy New Year! After taking a break from my studio I am excited to be joining the
"30 in 30" Challenge again this month! I'm thinking January will be a much better month for me to complete this goal-September ended up being crazy busy with unexpected travel and I basically sucked at painting 30 paintings in 30 days. But I learned a lot, painted more than I normally would have, and ended September just disappointed enough to want to try again this month.
I'm going to focus on painting abstracts because they are so different from all of the commissioned pet portraits and nests I've been working on for the last 2 months. Also, I've got a few blank walls in my house that could use some color! Abstracts are a lot harder to paint than they appear...GOOD abstracts, that is. And if you think "I could have painted that!" when you look at abstract art then I will answer you back with the same thing I answered my 3rd graders: "But you didn't."
All of my 30 in 30 paintings will be available for purchase so contact me if something strikes your fancy. The title of this one came from the live Eagle-cam we've all been watching like a HAWK (haha) all weekend. Come on egg #2!
Thanks as always for following me on my art journey...I can't wait to see what 2017 has in store for all of us!
